The driving license!

It will be a year since the police announced the beginning of a new form to penalize the drivers about driving offences.

It became the most spoken thing on TV and it also became a problem for many of the drivers. This license consisted in a card which has 12 points to start with and then, if you commit a driving offence on the road, you are penalized and you lose a number of points and also you are fined. When you have lost all the points, the driving license take away from you and you have to take the driving test again and you must pay for it again in the same form as if you were taken the test for the first time.

I think it made a lot of good influence on the road because the amount of dead on the road has decreased from last years. It also made a point of conscience in the brain of the drivers about consume alcohol on the road and it also helped to lower accidents.

I agree with this new license because it has proved the road is less dangerous than years ago, and also you can take the car thinking you are a bit more safe.

The Biggest human catastrophe in a long time...

Haiti was hit by an earthquake 7.1 on the righter scale. They were in really bad conditions to face this catastrophe and it's not all, the island was divided into two parts: the rich families and the poor families.
The poor families were devastated, they lost everything and most of the children became orphans, because the parents and family died under the rubble.

There were approximately one hundred and fifty thousand dead and many wounded. Many people from all over the world came to help them, and some people were lucky to be found alive by the rescues. There was a case of a young woman who was found alive after a week under the rubble, and another case of a boy who was saved by the rescues after been trapped under a building.

The other part of the island had no effects whatsoever because obviously the rich people had built their houses much more strongly. I think maybe, in a develop country, the catastrophe would have been much less because many countries would have gone to help with the best machines and more manpower.

Why is that whenever there is a catastrophe is always the poor who got hurt most?

Dear Ms Pintó,
I’m a student from first of Batxillerat, and I’ve been informed about the school’s calendar changes through the media and my tutor. I have a few aspects to comment.

First of all, I would like to talk about the advantages of studying up to now which have been good. The timetable has been OK because I have got used to the times and have been able to plan the rest of my activities around the present timetable.
Then, the disadvantages will be with the new programme:
I’m against losing holiday days, because I think it can be worse for our psychological rest and also because we need time to shape our character in our society. For it, I think we’ll be more stressed and really hungry these days and all the year.
Another disadvantage will be the extreme weather conditions: July is as very hot month and not ideal for studying.

In my experience, I don’t like the present calendar because I haven’t got enough time for homework and extra studying. In another words, the government, in my opinion, have no idea what is good for the students. I do not know if they have studied the situation of the students.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Aleix Serra

The euthanasia's topic...

All of us have an idea about what's euthanasia, but surely we don't know all of the consequences that brings to our society.
We are in the twenty-first century and we are conscientious enough to decide all of the rules in order to carry it out. I have to remember I'm a sixteen-year-old boy and I don't know lots of things of this life.

I haven't lived enough experiences to give a serious answer for this philosophical topic, but I know I can wonder it because we know that in a few years, young people will decide to vote for this.

It's really difficult to understand the situation of a terminal patient who wants to commit suicide because it's normal to fall in a mental depression and also feel unhappy. They are convinced to take it with a solution for their problems, but how can we decide who can do it and if it's the case, how will the family receive these news?

If they want to commit suicide, they can do it by juping form a cliff, but euthanasia can give them a death with dignity. In conclusion, it has to be approved by parliement and they have to watch for the happiness of the population's mind..

A Buitoni's spot...

We were having lunch in JR, a typical bar in Castelló d'Empúries,  and when we had finished, we went out and we saw a big spot light which was lightning the butcher's shop and a camera recording. We were really impressed!
We thought it was a joke but we asked someone and he told us it was a spot from Buitoni! It appeared like the real centre of Toscana, they'd change the signs above the shops fro italian signs and also they covered a wall with a false stone-wall.

It looked like they had trials in the village and they paid 90€ for each person who wanted to act in the spot, but it didn't attract my attantion because they had to be there for eleven hours repeating the scenes!
I hope to recognize the spot on TV! they did the decoration really good!

Dubai receives a $10bn bailout from Abu Dhabi

The crisis has hit all the world, even the normally multimillionaire grabs had to be bailout with 10 billion $ from Abu Dhabi, which helped the shares in the Gulf Region went up this morning.
Comment:
I can't understand a lot about these, but also I can put ideas forward.
I think it’s ok to level the world financials with economic injections, but I have complex questions:
-From where comes this money?
- If I can understand where this money comes from, can I understand who is going to benefit this money? And once they have benefited this money, how are they going to pay back?
And another question which I want to highlight:
IF THEY CAN’T PAY IT, WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
In my opinion, I think this project in the Gulf is coming to a ruin for the amirates and also for the global economy. And not only this project, also all the luxurious building projects which they are carrying out, as well as the huge projects which they don’t profit from or they, at the moment, can’t afford to pay the huge mortgages. However, Dubai is one of the strongest vibrant global financial centres. And they are confident that in years to come they will be back to be one of the wealthiest parts of the world.
