A Requiem for a Dream...

The film "Requiem for a Dream" makes a compilation of the human's feelings which consists in love, be loved, and the film makes a comparison of this between two points of view: the glory which they live in the beginning of the film, and the tragedy which finish with their lives in the final of the film.

This film makes reflect the observer about how he faces up his life and how he will react about the problems of the obsessions of this life. Also there are elements like drugs or dreams which makes more real this situation which we can put ourselves in their shoes.

This film made me reflect about which way I have to choose, because all of the young students like me could choose the wrong way like drug’s way, to don’t face up their problems and also be one more of this society without studies…
I’m sure it doesn’t help us with which ways we have to choose but I’m sure this film is really real and gives an example of a type of life which we want to avoid of it.

To express oneself...

In all the days, the humanity has a fear to say what really thinks about all the things, and then they close their mind for fear of offending or for fear of the reaction from the people who they know.

In a near future, we could express with all of our sincerity, because there are people who struggle hard to get this now… It looks like a stupid thing, but that’s our expressivity which is hit by the seriousness and the fear, and we are all the time affected for all the things which we can’t say or we can’t do.

The global education had interfered in the mind of millions of students who will be the next society and they will think like they had been thinking in the years of their education… then, if the teachers don’t get involved in the lives of their students, how will they know the meaning of the things and the form to express themselves… that’s a point of view which more people won’t share with me because it’s radical but effective…

I don’t want to proclaim the chaos in our society, but we have to recognize we are so stressed and we don’t think in the values of this life. All of this has to change, in bit proportions but it has to change for our happiness...

The driving license!

It will be a year since the police announced the beginning of a new form to penalize the drivers about driving offences.

It became the most spoken thing on TV and it also became a problem for many of the drivers. This license consisted in a card which has 12 points to start with and then, if you commit a driving offence on the road, you are penalized and you lose a number of points and also you are fined. When you have lost all the points, the driving license take away from you and you have to take the driving test again and you must pay for it again in the same form as if you were taken the test for the first time.

I think it made a lot of good influence on the road because the amount of dead on the road has decreased from last years. It also made a point of conscience in the brain of the drivers about consume alcohol on the road and it also helped to lower accidents.

I agree with this new license because it has proved the road is less dangerous than years ago, and also you can take the car thinking you are a bit more safe.

The Biggest human catastrophe in a long time...

Haiti was hit by an earthquake 7.1 on the righter scale. They were in really bad conditions to face this catastrophe and it's not all, the island was divided into two parts: the rich families and the poor families.
The poor families were devastated, they lost everything and most of the children became orphans, because the parents and family died under the rubble.

There were approximately one hundred and fifty thousand dead and many wounded. Many people from all over the world came to help them, and some people were lucky to be found alive by the rescues. There was a case of a young woman who was found alive after a week under the rubble, and another case of a boy who was saved by the rescues after been trapped under a building.

The other part of the island had no effects whatsoever because obviously the rich people had built their houses much more strongly. I think maybe, in a develop country, the catastrophe would have been much less because many countries would have gone to help with the best machines and more manpower.

Why is that whenever there is a catastrophe is always the poor who got hurt most?

Dear Ms Pintó,
I’m a student from first of Batxillerat, and I’ve been informed about the school’s calendar changes through the media and my tutor. I have a few aspects to comment.

First of all, I would like to talk about the advantages of studying up to now which have been good. The timetable has been OK because I have got used to the times and have been able to plan the rest of my activities around the present timetable.
Then, the disadvantages will be with the new programme:
I’m against losing holiday days, because I think it can be worse for our psychological rest and also because we need time to shape our character in our society. For it, I think we’ll be more stressed and really hungry these days and all the year.
Another disadvantage will be the extreme weather conditions: July is as very hot month and not ideal for studying.

In my experience, I don’t like the present calendar because I haven’t got enough time for homework and extra studying. In another words, the government, in my opinion, have no idea what is good for the students. I do not know if they have studied the situation of the students.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Aleix Serra
