The last reflection...

Since 2009 I have made a change in my level of English and I’m sure that I went through an improvement which is reflected on my level of writing. I can realize that in my compositions: if I compare the first composition (1st) to the last composition (5th) I have learnt lots of linking words which helped me to make my writings easier to read. I also used some locutions which made easier add some related ideas on the text.

I think that my oral level of English had been improved because I could see it on my last Oral presentation which was about a topic which I was really interested. I realized that when I was really interested on my topic, I was explaining it with different intonation which helped me to attract the people’s attention, and it was really gratifying for me to know that they were understanding me. I can compare the first Oral presentation, which was really boring and the people only could understand my text for the images… In the last one I had experienced that people was interested on the explanation because the images attract their attention and they wanted to know what I was talking about…

The posts helped me a lot to abstract my ideas and what I think about things which turn over my mind and EXPRESS it on the paper, to structure my ideas on a composition and reflect what I think about things which I really feel and I learn lots of words which I have never seen, and also it help me a lot to know HOW to think in English and capture it on this post. I can see the change in my last Task composition, which talks about the sustainability and how we are taking care of our planet. I compared it with the Frankenstein Composition, which was really short and I wasn’t explaining all my own ideas. I have to accept that I learnt how to structure a composition in this post, but I wasn’t telling my own opinion.

I didn’t found really useful the podcasts, because I could repeat all the times what I wanted to say and I don’t think that gave me some kind of learning. I didn’t learn to speak with the good accent thanks to it, unless I only searched the recorded words in the online dictionary when I was doing the Oral Presentation, and it really helped me, unlike the podcast...

For these I didn’t like it really much podcasts, but unlike this I really love to make posts in the blog! Why I love it? I’m going to explain now...
When I was watching TV and I saw an impacting new I came to the computer and I posted what I was thinking about this new, I expressed myself... When I was really tired doing Maths in my home I stopped it for a few minutes and I thought about a new post... It helped me to take a break and relaxing from my stressed day... It was really helpful to learn and also to express my own ideas. I think these blog is really helpful for all the students, who are really stressed and it helps us to increase our marks...

We have almost learnt to respect our world…

If a person tells me that we respect our world and he gives me enough arguments and convinces me of that, I give him one million Dollars… I’m really sure that nobody can give me these arguments… Because there aren’t any arguments to support this sentence, and I also think that’s only a joke when a person tells you that we are respecting our world…
The mind of the people isn’t qualified to understand that THE LIFE is more important than THE MONEY. For these two causes revolve our minds and if I say you that more than the 50% of humans believe in the second, I give you the most powerful argument. Our society is all the day thinking in get money all the day because the same Consumption Society had convinced them to think this. All the day we are bombarded with advertising and consumer thoughts… We can’t realize that our life is going right!
I also have to add the most obvious; the society of consumption generates the Earth’s destruction, contamination, species extinction, and the saddest is that we are becoming more ignorant and egocentric. We don’t think about the polar bears that are becoming extinct for the polar thaw, we don’t remember that thousands of dolphins are dying for ingesting plastic bags… Who will do it for us? We are the problem!
Another view point to add is that the humanity is increasing constantly and it means that the problems are becoming extremely dangerous, for the other species and although for us! I know that people are made aware of these problems and there are lots of Organizations who fight against it, but IT ISN’T ENOUOGH!
Summarizing, I have to refuse the idea that “We have learnt to respect our world” and I also want to add that it isn’t enough to think about these problems and recycling, we have to fight against the big industries who contaminate our water, also we have to separate the rubbish and don’t drop it in the middle of the street, and lots of things like these… But it can’t be possible if we don’t start now!

New in Campus...

A: Hi! I'm Fio. What's your name?

B: Hello, Fio. My name's Ricky.

A: Hi Ricky. Are you a new student here?

B: Yes, I had my first lesson this morning. Are you a new student too?

A: No, I've been here for six months.

B: Six months. That's a long time.

A: It's not so long really. What class are you in? Intermediate or …?

B: Intermediate Three. And what about you?

A: I'm in Advanced One. Who's your teacher?

B: I can't remember her name, but she's got curly red hair.

A: Ah! Does she wear glasses?

B: Yes, I think so.

A: That's probably Sor Isabel.

B: Yes that's right. Do you know her? Is she your teacher too?

A: No. But she taught me last term. How long have you been here?

B: Only a week.

Oral Presentation Reflection...

About the presentation, I prepared a PowerPoint which helped me a lot to attract the listeners attantion. I think that having structured the topic a bit, helped me to explain it better. And an important resource which really helped me although it maybe seem of little importance was the bottle of water. When I speak I get really nervous and my mouth goes dry , a little drink help me a lot to be more fluent.

The body language which I used was a bit boring and also I wasn't having eye contact with the listeners. But, this time I had more experience and I tried to hold a good tone in my voice, to attract the listeners attantion.
I realized that the people is more attentive if you talk about problems which affect them and if you treat about topics which attract them. For this, I talked about the Nazism, the Homophobia... And also I used the image of a famous character from the TV show ¨"skins"...
I used a simple vocabulary because I wanted to explain all what I wanted and also I didn't use lots of linkers. It could have helped me much better...
The pronunciation wasn't really good but against that I was fluent apart from the small breaks.

I think that I should get an eight out of nine... : D

Prejudices...

There's the video which contains my Oral Presentation about Prejudices:

Part 1:

Part 2:

The Prejudices
Good morning to everybody, I will talk you about the prejudices.
First of all I want to tell you that all of us, at one time or another, have some kind of prejudices.
We usually guide ourselves with prejudices to save thinking that all of us are humans and we have our own personalities, and all of us act different from others because we are INDIVIDUALS.
-         Could you tell me some kinds of Prejudices? (yes you can see it on the frontpage)
-What does it means? When you use a prejudice you are relating somebody or normally a group of people to some kind of behavior (good or bad) and in a kind of atmosphere.
To make it easier I will tell you two examples…
The first example is the typical persistent student that you think he is a closed person and he doesn’t move from his desktop, but then you realize that he goes out every weekend to parties and has great fun!
The second example… When you see a Heavy with his leather jacket and a strange looking character, then you think, BUUUUUUF! HE’S REALLY FREAK AND SURE HE’S STUPID! But Then you know more of him and he’s the nicest person that you ever meet and in some times his life view point can surprise you!
WE ARE WRONG!
Yes, usually we have prejudices which we can’t appreciate and it makes us think bad things about anyone in our first impression.
That’s the biggest problem about meeting people and for this, we are becoming more ignorant about different points of view in life!

PREJUDICES LEFT MARKS IN HISTORY.
At the beginning of time, the animals never had problems like this. They thought only about: “ OH LOOK THIS ANIMAL, Is he dangerous? No? Ok, HE’S APPELING!”
But when the development started and the “humans” moved away, there started the differences…
Slavery:
The first act in History which we can define with Prejudice is the “SLAVERY”,
But I think that I can’t define Slavery like a prejudice when it was used in the Ancient Egypt, When the slaves were usually criminals or poor people…
But when the WHITE men which were living above the Equator line started to “ENSLAVE” the black people who were taken from their countries mainly in Africa, then we can state that were Prejudice acts…
Nazism:
Then, the second Prejudice which revolutionized all the world was the Nazism.
There had been big demonstrations about the prejudices which we have in ourselves and also the facilities which make us think things like “Racism? Yes, it’s a good way…”
The Nazism was based on exterminating the LOW RACES (that’s the biggest Prejudice that I’ve never heard! )
These low races were the Jewish, black people, and some kind of “races” which weren’t like the DREAM OF HITLER, which described they were the BEST RACE…
 THE LAST CLUE!
Hey guys, do you want to know what? Hitler was wrong! How I Know it? I have a clue which completes my demonstration…
Jesse Owens, a black man from South America won the Olympic Games… And Hitler was there, in the bleachers looking how a BLACK MAN was winning the first position in the Olympic Games…
You can laugh! Of course! But can you imagine his face?
That’s real that the prejudices are good in some times…
For example, if you close your eyes and imagine this situation: You are in the street, alone, at midnight and suddenly you see a black person who’s coming to you in a suspicious way. Sure lots of you will start running.
But do you know that’s the same if you find a white person in the same time and at the same street?
That’s the prejudice which makes us think that a person with a different skin can be good or evil depending on his physical appearance.
Another prejudice at present is the topic of Homosexuality. It was persecuted by Nazis in the  30’s.
Nowadays, the society think that the men usually have a women’ behavior and otherwise, women have man’ behavior.
What can we do against these prejudices?
Firstly, we have to have an open mind realizing that all the people are different and you should be friends with everyone, leaving aside where they are from, their sexual preferences or their believes.
Another thing to do against the prejudices is to be aware that all of us have different life aims which, and we can take help from other view points.

An Informal Letter...

Dear Kieron,

I live in Spain and there are lots of counties which are really interesting to visit but I’ll explain to you three of my favorite: the Catalan Counties (Valencia, Balearic Islands and Catalonia). The relation within these counties used to be very strong in the Middle Ages before the moors conquered Valencia and Balearic Islands. These counties have similarities in the language and the culture.

In Valencia there are lots of friendly parties for everybody. They are really developed and also there are really important places where they can celebrate important events known worldwide.

In the Balearic Islands, their inhabitants are the opposite from Valencia’s people. They are really calm people and they live in a relaxed atmosphere. They are really friendly and most of them live from the sea. If you dream with perfect beaches and relaxed holidays, this is the place you are looking for.

The way of celebrate traditions in Catalonia is a mixture of the last two counties. There are lots of impressive views and you can find mountain reviews and also sea views. There’s a mixture of these two cultures of which we can enjoy together with other traditions from the same county. There are also lots of local adventure activities like parachuting, human towers, “correfoc”…

I recommend you to visit all these counties but if I had to choose one of them, I would stay in Catalonia because there are lots of interesting places to visit, there are impressive landscape and views, which maybe they aren’t the best in the world but they are very varied and also lots of different cultures.

What's about our future?

The other day I saw a video which made me think a lot... It was about a 14 year old girl who was from Canada and she founded an Organization named Enviromental Children's Organization, and It was really incredible to see how she could silenc all the representatives in the UN with her words...
She had to work hard to get enough money for the transport to go to the UN parliament and tell them what she and her group of friends think about the acts from the politicians.
When she started to talk about topics like famine or poverty and the she compared herself with the children who were affected by it, she touched the heart of all the older people.

How incredible is that a girl at that age could speak and relize things like this, and then I also value the courage of this girl to talk to the whole world with these words and her facility to face all these problems, also accepting that she's not doing anything because the words that she's saying don't verify the real facts in life.
I think this girl could be a good president because she has all what a president needs: She manages to attract peoples attention, she talks about lots of interesting problems and topics, and the most important : She is really sure of what she is saying!
The topics that she chose are really problematic and they haven't got any remedies, for this, she state that nobody is helping to solve these problems and for this reason, the politicians should do something to stop problems like these.
She also talks about the promises which the parents make to their children and she stated many promises like: You never want for anything, You'll see fantastic things in this life, You'll live really happy and other things like these... she got to their hearts by telling them that they aren't keeping what was promised.

I have to remember that she is only a girl who is twelve years old, HOW SHE CAN BE more mature and responsible than an adult? She is  telling the truth to all the world and They can relize that she is realizing things which we could never think that a girl at this age can tell to all the world... That´s the most incredible of that...

Here I have the video in case that you want to see it and realize that you'll be silenced for six minutes which will make you think a lot about problems which affects all of us and we aren't doing anything to solve them... :

The boy who killed his best friend...

Yesterday, the police from Hollywood (Florida) had received a call from a 14-year-old boy who accidentally shot his best friend on his head with a gun which had his mother. He said that they were missing on it and they took out the bullets but they missed one...

- My view point:

I can't believe it right now... I think it could be a kind of joke...
What the Hell? The Humanity is making worse all this hard way which had been really difficult to be where we are nowadays...
I can't think that you can play with a gun with your best friend because you are really bored... I can't think that you are aiming your best friend with a gun...

If the world is becoming stupid we can recognize GOOD and EVIL , I have to say one thing:

- Sorry Humans but we have to GIVE UP in the fight of this life...

I have only one question: What was doing his mother with a gun in his house?
If the answer is that they had to have a way to feel protected, there's another topic which is really colourful... They feel UNPROTECTED between neighbours!

That's sure, they live in really bad conditions... And which is their MIND?
- OK, I'm really bored, I will do cool things like aim my friend in his head...

THE WORLD IS TURNING BACKWARDS!

We are playing with death, we are becoming wild, we are following prejudices, we become more stupid...
That's the way which dreamt our forebears for us?
I'm sure in one thing: We have a mission to do in this life, and this is change bit things to leave a better world that we found...
We are living in this world, then WE are this people who have to fight for the good or the evil and it won't be made by nobody else...

Independence...

On the 25 of April, there will be a referendum to decide Catalonia's independence from Spain.
There have been lots of discussions that made conflicts between the Catalans and the Spanish people. Also there were law arguments like the Catalan Statute which has lasted months and months before and it's not really clear yet.
I think that Catalonia could be better if it was Independent, and I have a good argument for it.
If Catalonia didn't go on, do you think that the government of Spain wouldn't be against its independence?
Catalonia pays 40% of the capital of the Country and I think that they know if Catalonia left Spain, they could be really affected and Spain could find itself in a worse situation than Greece, and they would have to borrow money from the Internationa Monteary Found, like Greece...

For this reason, I will go voting on the 25 of April!

The Woodstock...

Thirty years ago, the people were living in other ways of life. They were really against the politicians, the governors and the law. There were lots of groups of people who decided to rebel against them and there started the GOOD Music.

The music was the best form to show their feelings to the rest of the humanity, and it was the best form that had ever been. The music in the 70's had changed the mind of all the society in these years, and not only this but also it had an effect 30 years later.
Woodstock is the biggest free concert that had ever been over the world, all the people were in good a mood and there came people from all over America. There played really famous people like Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix...
They were people who wanted to show their loving feelings to all the rest, they only wanted to feel happy with their music, and it could explain their triumph...
The Woodstock festival was organized for 200.000 people, but at the end came 1.000.000! And it was organized for a young man from a simple village! That's the most incredible of this festival...
All the roads were crowded and the famous singers had to arrive by helicopter.
They were days of peace and love, and GOOD MUSIC!

They lived the best years of the music history and I think we would had to return to the past (not for the changes in the law, but yes for the mind of the people) because they were really rebels and fight for their ideals!

The scientific class…

The students from the scientific Batxillerat are ostracized from the other students. Tomorrow is a big day for all the Catalans, Sant Jordi s Day, and there is a good festive atmosphere which there is lots of book stands to promote the Catalan culture and also the reading, concerts and poems recitals.

The Letters class students will go to listen the concert and the poems from the ESO students and they won’t have class. That’s a thing which I refuse, because if we are all students and we all want the same (don’t work too much), why there are lots of differences between them and us? I know that normally the scientific student doesn’t be interest in artist acts but I also have to remember that we are all persons who like the culture and the acts which are celebrated in the country.

Another fact which made me think that we are so despised from the others is that the students from 1st of Batxillerat of the last year they didn’t had class the three hours after breakfast time. Is really that the rules are changing for all (the Sele is changing, the Calendar is changing, class hours are changing…) but why are all this changes for more work if at the end, our objective is be more cultured if we don’t enjoy the acts about culture?!

Summering, there are lots of differences between Scientific class and Letters class, and the rules are changing for worse.

The future of the youth!?

I was watching a video in Youtube which really made me think about the rules in a young mind. I think they only have in mind that BE COOL is the best thing to success in this life and for this, they have to make things which really they detest.
The video isn't really true but it can give you a bit part of truth which they really live. It's about a girl who has fourteen years old and she exchanged sex for a cheese burger! (I don't believe that, of course!)
But this video is a different video, because if you have a bit part of conscience, you can realize that all the show is a mockery which maximize the bad things of the youth which they have to success to be more mature. I want just to give an example which is affecting our society. When you see that in the TV there are spots which say you "Don't Smoke! It will kill you!" and then, you go in front of an institute and you see all the younger students smoking you think: What the hell? They don't have conscience?
You have to accept that "this loads of things to be cool" are coming down in the age scale. Nowadays are teenagers really young who are taking drugs as much as they can and they "are coming cool so much". That's a problem! Where are now the politicians?

I think there could be a solution but they don't move from their majestic armchair...

(If you want to watch the video...)

Art ART art....

I started to paint five years ago, when I was a child... I ever had interest for the artistic world, but I never thought that I could be a painter... I started to learn music when I was six and four years later I started to learn painting, in Castelló.

The last years I had to mature a lot and then I developed my artistic style...Two years ago I started to be interested in discover news types of art and also I learnt a lot by internet pages. I think that`ll help me a lot and also it will apport more interesting points of view of this life because the art is a personal interpretation of the feelings of other people which can help you and also it can help you to be happier because you can give vent to your bad feelings and you can find out new points of view which can makes reflect you about your way of think and if you can be missed.
The art is a world which nobody will understand, but if you can pass an idea to the other person who is observing your work, you can feel statisfated.
I think that the most important think in the world of the art is to move ideas and the thoughts, to change something in the mind of the observer and makes him reflect about things. All the topics are OK to reflect, but you have to have knowledges of this topic and work a bit on it, reflect you before the creation and think a lot if it will be OK for the movement of the ideas.

Be an artist isn't really difficult, but have enough expression to gives your ideas to the public is really difficult and for it you have to work a lot on it.

The Pope's immunity...

I look through several webs that Pope's was accused for cover up several priests who had done sexual abuses to youngers, and then, they say that Pope can't go to testify in the courts because He has immunity because he's a State's Boss. There are lots of uncovers that members from the Catholic church had done sexual abuses, and the Pope's ignores that and continues his Holly celebrations without explanations.

I have a dramatic question: If the priests are good, and several priests do this sins, how we can trust with the Pope's power and choose him for one of the most powerful persons at the world?

I think that's a topic which the society has to solve early because the "power" is focusing in several persons who don't really need it and shouldn't have it. For example, Bill Gates is the most rich man in the world, who gave the posibility to have a computer in all the houses, but did she made the same effort than the amount of his money?
Then, we can state that all the persons are fallible and they have their imperfections and their talents, but not for it we can impose the character down the law. For the same reason, a person who have lots of relationships with law's people, he couldn't go to the prison (it remembers me Al Capone)

In short, I'm against this type of policy and I will make to come Pope to testify and do explanations about this cases of sexual abuses...

Frankenstein Comment - Body experiments...

Science experiments are really uncomfortable to be decided and putted on the good hand or in the bad hand. Firstly, I want to make a question which we will answer at the end: Are the experiments good for the health or are they only curiosity of the human’s mind?

On the one hand, the experiments can help with the medicines development and also it can improve the scientific instrumental. For this, Dr. Frankenstein made an experiment which could help the medicine and give live to the dead persons who had just died.

On the other hand, the experiments on dead bodies don’t show any type of respect for the dead persons, because Frankenstein took some parts of different bodies and he united all of them, and then, The Monster wasn’t really happy to be alive. Although, the experiments usually takes places on animals, who suffer this immoral experiments and they finish dieing without dignity.

To finish my comment, I want to say that they have to control the experiments on living being bodies and also they can practice this experiments only if they are moral experiments and accepted for the dead persons giving a part of their body for the medicine development.

Evaluating myself on OralPresentation...

The PowerPoint was ok, and also the music which set the type of the presentation. I think it was really OK to wear the typical necklace because it helped a lot to capture the attention of the occasional students...
It also helped our self because we were really stressed and then, when we could realise that we shocked with all the people and they were listening us, then we were more relaxed and chattier.

I think we were watching the audience most of the time, and if it's not it was for highlight some aspects of the PowerPoint...
The structure of the PowerPoint could be better because it was a bit mixed and it could complicate the understanding...
The content was OK for my pleasure because it was about interesting things of the Country although the History doesn't like to all of us.
The language wasn't bad but it could be better, because there were some words which were repeated all the time... There were the pronunciation and the intonation which were so bad because I was really nervous and I couldn't be concentrated with the pronunciation, although I searched it in internet and I practised it...

I think I deserve an 8 mark over 10...

Goodbye Hawaii...

Our Oral presentation in II parts...

History

The first people to come to Hawaii were Polynesians from Marquessas Islands, in fifth century. They came with catamarans, their typical transport of multihulled boat.
At tenth century came the Tahitians who introduced the social order, religion and traditions.
The first king of Hawaii was Kamehameha I, and he united all the islands of Hawaii and established the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1810.

Festivities
The New year opens with the Merrie Monarch Festival, which consists in a Hula competition, the typical dance which has place in April.
In March, there’s the Lei Days which give place to the Handmade Leis Competition. The leis are the typical flower necklaces which we wear on.
Then, in June we can take place in the biggest festivity of Hawaii, the Day of Kamehameha, the king who I mentioned before. They dress the statue of Kamehameha and also there is a flower parade on floats and canoes. They use autochthones flowers for all the decoration and dresses.
Then, in summer we can visit the Aloha Week in September, which contains lots of cultural events and canoes races with traditional music.
In December we can visit the famous surfing competition Eddie Aikau Memorial Big Wave Classic, with waves rising up to 6 metres! Sure I won’t try to surf a wave with this dimensions.

Interesting Places:
Hawaii is divided in various islands, like we had just seen.
Oahu, the most important islands is where we can visit the capital of Hawaii, Honolulu, and the famous beach of Waikiki.
It’s one of the islands which absorbs most of the tourism. There’s the North Coast where we can practice surf and also we can visit Nu’uanu Pali, the place which look like heaven… There we can see fantastic views over clives splashed by waterfalls.
Then, in the Big Island, also named Hawaii, has a great geological power in the Volcanoes National Park. Where we can practice diving and see most of the rests of the Old Hawaiian culture.
In Maui we can visit the Halekala Crater, which is appeared with a Moon Crater. It contains fantastic views of mountainous landscape and it has good conditions to practice windsurf.
Then, if we aren’t sure to visit all this things and we don’t want to meet with other tourists to feel the real relax of the Pacific Islands, we can visit the Neighbouring Islands like the Kiholo Bay, where we can spend the day surrounded by lava and a black sands beach, frequently visited by giant turtles.
Also we can go to Hilo, situated on the wind coast of Big Island which has approximately 3200mm of rain which makes a spectacle phenomena waterfalls which fall into the ocean.

Traditions:
Aina:
It could be the most important heritage of Hawaii. It consists about the respect for the earth, because it’s a present from God and they can take profit of it. In present days, they take care of the earth and they try to conserve the beautiful of it.

Ohana:
The old Hawaiians were really trusty to the importance of the family. All work was assigned to all the components of the family by the same way. They were really protectors between them and all of them contributed for all the tasks.
Now, in business situations, the Hawaiians can considerate impolite don’t ask about the family.

Hula:
It’s the hardest aspect of the Hawaiian’s heritage. It’s more than a style of dance. Hula explains a story with the canticles, gesture and movements. It’s danced to honour the God, to stand out success of a hero or to celebrate the earth’s beauty.
Art:
The old Hawaiians were skilful about Na Hana Noeau which means :
Work skilful and wise.
They also include this art to functional objects:
For example:
- The “Kapa” Is a fine material working with wauke’s wood. For example, this was used in blankets, “lava lavas” and “muumuus”. They take 8 hours per day to do copies of designs of this traditional art.
- “Lauhala” is an art which uses hala leaves which are used for lots of products from hats to carpets.

The typical music of Hawaii:
The Ukelele is the most recognized instrument of Hawaii and then, the less known are “ohe hano ihu”, a flute made with bamboo and the “ipu heke Ole”, a type of drum made with a pumpkin. It’s usually used in Hula dances, and the “ohe hano ihu” is now used in falsettos and also fro the reggae. It’s really fun to watch how they play this because they play it by the air-nose.

The Ocean is another abstract concept. It’s related with “Aina”, the love to the earth and it’s an important concept because Hawaiians love the ocean because they use it for their travels, their fishing and their pleasure. It’s another part of their life.

A Requiem for a Dream...

The film "Requiem for a Dream" makes a compilation of the human's feelings which consists in love, be loved, and the film makes a comparison of this between two points of view: the glory which they live in the beginning of the film, and the tragedy which finish with their lives in the final of the film.

This film makes reflect the observer about how he faces up his life and how he will react about the problems of the obsessions of this life. Also there are elements like drugs or dreams which makes more real this situation which we can put ourselves in their shoes.

This film made me reflect about which way I have to choose, because all of the young students like me could choose the wrong way like drug’s way, to don’t face up their problems and also be one more of this society without studies…
I’m sure it doesn’t help us with which ways we have to choose but I’m sure this film is really real and gives an example of a type of life which we want to avoid of it.

To express oneself...

In all the days, the humanity has a fear to say what really thinks about all the things, and then they close their mind for fear of offending or for fear of the reaction from the people who they know.

In a near future, we could express with all of our sincerity, because there are people who struggle hard to get this now… It looks like a stupid thing, but that’s our expressivity which is hit by the seriousness and the fear, and we are all the time affected for all the things which we can’t say or we can’t do.

The global education had interfered in the mind of millions of students who will be the next society and they will think like they had been thinking in the years of their education… then, if the teachers don’t get involved in the lives of their students, how will they know the meaning of the things and the form to express themselves… that’s a point of view which more people won’t share with me because it’s radical but effective…

I don’t want to proclaim the chaos in our society, but we have to recognize we are so stressed and we don’t think in the values of this life. All of this has to change, in bit proportions but it has to change for our happiness...

The driving license!

It will be a year since the police announced the beginning of a new form to penalize the drivers about driving offences.

It became the most spoken thing on TV and it also became a problem for many of the drivers. This license consisted in a card which has 12 points to start with and then, if you commit a driving offence on the road, you are penalized and you lose a number of points and also you are fined. When you have lost all the points, the driving license take away from you and you have to take the driving test again and you must pay for it again in the same form as if you were taken the test for the first time.

I think it made a lot of good influence on the road because the amount of dead on the road has decreased from last years. It also made a point of conscience in the brain of the drivers about consume alcohol on the road and it also helped to lower accidents.

I agree with this new license because it has proved the road is less dangerous than years ago, and also you can take the car thinking you are a bit more safe.

The Biggest human catastrophe in a long time...

Haiti was hit by an earthquake 7.1 on the righter scale. They were in really bad conditions to face this catastrophe and it's not all, the island was divided into two parts: the rich families and the poor families.
The poor families were devastated, they lost everything and most of the children became orphans, because the parents and family died under the rubble.

There were approximately one hundred and fifty thousand dead and many wounded. Many people from all over the world came to help them, and some people were lucky to be found alive by the rescues. There was a case of a young woman who was found alive after a week under the rubble, and another case of a boy who was saved by the rescues after been trapped under a building.

The other part of the island had no effects whatsoever because obviously the rich people had built their houses much more strongly. I think maybe, in a develop country, the catastrophe would have been much less because many countries would have gone to help with the best machines and more manpower.

Why is that whenever there is a catastrophe is always the poor who got hurt most?

Dear Ms Pintó,
I’m a student from first of Batxillerat, and I’ve been informed about the school’s calendar changes through the media and my tutor. I have a few aspects to comment.

First of all, I would like to talk about the advantages of studying up to now which have been good. The timetable has been OK because I have got used to the times and have been able to plan the rest of my activities around the present timetable.
Then, the disadvantages will be with the new programme:
I’m against losing holiday days, because I think it can be worse for our psychological rest and also because we need time to shape our character in our society. For it, I think we’ll be more stressed and really hungry these days and all the year.
Another disadvantage will be the extreme weather conditions: July is as very hot month and not ideal for studying.

In my experience, I don’t like the present calendar because I haven’t got enough time for homework and extra studying. In another words, the government, in my opinion, have no idea what is good for the students. I do not know if they have studied the situation of the students.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Aleix Serra

The euthanasia's topic...

All of us have an idea about what's euthanasia, but surely we don't know all of the consequences that brings to our society.
We are in the twenty-first century and we are conscientious enough to decide all of the rules in order to carry it out. I have to remember I'm a sixteen-year-old boy and I don't know lots of things of this life.

I haven't lived enough experiences to give a serious answer for this philosophical topic, but I know I can wonder it because we know that in a few years, young people will decide to vote for this.

It's really difficult to understand the situation of a terminal patient who wants to commit suicide because it's normal to fall in a mental depression and also feel unhappy. They are convinced to take it with a solution for their problems, but how can we decide who can do it and if it's the case, how will the family receive these news?

If they want to commit suicide, they can do it by juping form a cliff, but euthanasia can give them a death with dignity. In conclusion, it has to be approved by parliement and they have to watch for the happiness of the population's mind..

A Buitoni's spot...

We were having lunch in JR, a typical bar in Castelló d'Empúries,  and when we had finished, we went out and we saw a big spot light which was lightning the butcher's shop and a camera recording. We were really impressed!
We thought it was a joke but we asked someone and he told us it was a spot from Buitoni! It appeared like the real centre of Toscana, they'd change the signs above the shops fro italian signs and also they covered a wall with a false stone-wall.

It looked like they had trials in the village and they paid 90€ for each person who wanted to act in the spot, but it didn't attract my attantion because they had to be there for eleven hours repeating the scenes!
I hope to recognize the spot on TV! they did the decoration really good!

Dubai receives a $10bn bailout from Abu Dhabi

The crisis has hit all the world, even the normally multimillionaire grabs had to be bailout with 10 billion $ from Abu Dhabi, which helped the shares in the Gulf Region went up this morning.
Comment:
I can't understand a lot about these, but also I can put ideas forward.
I think it’s ok to level the world financials with economic injections, but I have complex questions:
-From where comes this money?
- If I can understand where this money comes from, can I understand who is going to benefit this money? And once they have benefited this money, how are they going to pay back?
And another question which I want to highlight:
IF THEY CAN’T PAY IT, WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
In my opinion, I think this project in the Gulf is coming to a ruin for the amirates and also for the global economy. And not only this project, also all the luxurious building projects which they are carrying out, as well as the huge projects which they don’t profit from or they, at the moment, can’t afford to pay the huge mortgages. However, Dubai is one of the strongest vibrant global financial centres. And they are confident that in years to come they will be back to be one of the wealthiest parts of the world.
